A Vanishing Japan.
Adam first encountered Japan over ten years ago and began sketching the myriad faces of everyday people on the subways of Nagoya. He quickly developed a fascination with it’s culture and people and has returned whenever possible catching trains to nowhere to explore and draw the less trodden paths, small towns, temples and forgotten wildernesses. His latest trip consisted of four months camping, travelling by motorcycle through Southern Japan, drawing photographing and painting the landscapes and people he encountered.
A Vanishing Japan’, is the collection of the artworks of a kind of Japanese Odyssey of travel and creation. The drawings, paintings, prints and sculptures document Adam’s observations of a fading and elusive ancient culture, a vanishing Japan.
