About me:
My names Ayla Saul, I am a recent year 12 graduate from Warragul Regional College, 2022.
I went to Jindivick Primary school when I was younger and have been very familiar with Laurie Collins and his work for some time. I really enjoy being able to create and experiment with a variety of art styles, but I mostly specialize in digital art. I find it allows me to work cleanly and efficiently in a way which encourages me to achieve a high level of detail and contrast, working with elements of light and colour in an unlimited way, bolstering my imaginative processes.
Throughout this year I was aiming to explore the concept of transformation. transformative changes to the physical body, the environment, the wildlife, emotions, and overall, how shifts, augmentations, mutations, and the interlinking concepts of change happen. My exhibition broadens from this point exploring both the beautiful and the brutal aspects of humanity and the storytelling that shape our understanding of our world, who we are, and who we should strive to become. I seek to challenge certain cultural ideas, and stereotypes through symbolism and psycho-analytical perspectives exhibited in a variety of mediums and texts and be provocatively enchanting in style to challenge those concepts.
